Sales targets
What the target block shows
- Target: what the month should reach. Sales to our partner companies count, like any other customer.
- Invoiced: sales invoiced so far this month.
- In the warehouse pipeline: orders already submitted and not yet invoiced.
- Still needed: the target minus what is invoiced and in the pipeline.
- Expected by month end: sales invoiced so far plus a forecast of the days left. The forecast is made each night from the last three years of the shop's daily sales. A shop split by invoice category shares its forecast between them by how each category ran last year. A shop with no forecast yet (a new shop, or the night's forecast did not run) uses the rest of last year's month instead, scaled by how this month is going against the same days last year.
- Needed per day and this week: what is still needed, spread over the days left.
The chart compares this month, day by day, with the same month last year. From today on, a light green Forecast band shows where the month is likely to go: eight times in ten the month ends inside it. The band is wide at the start of the month and narrows as the days are invoiced. Point at a day to see the expected total and its range.
Year to date shows the same for the whole year, month by month. Expected by year end is the sales invoiced so far plus the forecast of the rest of the year: day by day for this month, and week by week for the months after, which follows the November and December peak better.
Organisation, shop and category buttons
At the top of the block there is a row of buttons:
- on the group dashboard, one per organisation (in pounds);
- on an organisation dashboard, one per open shop;
- on a shop dashboard, one per invoice category, when the shop sells under more than one (for example Export, Key Accounts, Partners or a marketplace).
Each button shows how much of its target is invoiced. Clicking one turns the whole block into that organisation, shop or category. All goes back to the total. aiku remembers the last button you picked on each dashboard, so you open straight on your own part next time.
Show all targets, at the bottom, opens a list with every one of them side by side.
Setting the targets
Organisation and group admins set the targets on the shop dashboard:
- in a shop with one category, with the pencil next to the target;
- in a shop with several categories, by opening a category and using the pencil next to its target. The shop's target is the sum of its categories.
Until a category is set, it takes its share of the shop's target, in proportion to its sales in the same month last year. Until a shop is set, its target is the same month last year plus 4%. The organisation adds up its shops and the group adds up its organisations.
The morning tip
Every morning aiku writes a short tip for each shop and for each of its categories. It says what is needed today and this week, and the actions most likely to close the gap, using only the shop's own figures:
- customers who bought in the same month last year and have not bought yet this month;
- customers due to reorder within a week (shop tip);
- open baskets that customers touched in the last 14 days (shop tip).
The tip is a suggestion written by an AI model; the figures in it come from aiku.
